Get the preppy look

If you're like me, you are LOVING the "oh so stylish" Preppy Look. It's a fab excuse to bring out the sexy secretary in you. It's such a great way to look and feel super stylish, sexy and intelligent.
One of the rare occasions you get to see me in my glasses. Although, as the years creep up I find I am needing them more and more, but glasses can be the ultimate accessory.
I team my glasses up with a Yumi spotty dress from Yumi from the Spring/Summer 14 collection. This is not just a fab dress, but Scarlett also adores it as it reminds her of Minnie Mouse:-) For me, it's such a pretty, girly day to evening dress. I think it perfect for work as it is smart and elegant, but yet easy to take from work to after work drinks. It is a sweet dress that is oh so feminine.

The preppy look is in ladies, there will be more entries in my wardrobe to come!

My week in pictures

It's been a super busy week, so I've just not had chance to blog at all. I thought I'd do a super quick over view of the week.
I have been working in Dusseldorf. I am quite opinion less when it comes to Germany. I like it, I like the people, but truthfully I found few things to snap and put on my blog. I guess it just the places that I visit, as it is for work they tend to be the industrial areas. I very rarely get chance to see any nice places when I travel, which is a real shame. Germany was nice and warm, it was wonderful to feel the sun on my skin, it seems like such a long time! I have to point out this epic shower, which really took me by surprise. It was like a centre piece in the room. It was ok as I was sharing with Ian, but what if I had been with a colleague?! Even with Ian I felt a little self conscience. Just shows that the Germans are a little more extroverted than we are!

Since then, I have returned, but Ian is still there for the rest of the week. I realise how difficult it must be to be a single mother, I struggle balancing Scarlett and work. It is just so full on when you are on your own. I really have the ultimate respect for single mums, that is a serious job! I'm not sure that I could do it full time, my hat is off to you all. As it was just the two of us, I treated her to an epic shopping trip around Toys R Us. One of the many gifts she chose herself was this cute nurses outfit, which I had to take a pic of. Nurse Scarlett.

My very organised make-up kit

My very tidy make-up organiser
We're moving! The big move is going ahead, we've not got a moving date yet, but I think it will be around another 3 weeks. I haven't started to pack yet, but it is at the back of my mind.
I came across these fab make-up storage case on Amazon and thought it would be a good time to clear out my make-up draw and be organised.
I am an obsessive lipstick buyer. I cannot walk into a department store or Boots without picking up at least couple of shades. It has got so bad that I keep buying them and then fining I already have that shade at home! This is always an epic disappointment. My lipsticks were spread at the bottom of drawers, old shoe boxes and too many too many to count at the bottom of my bags.
I decided to be courageous and get everything out and have a massive clear out. I was ruthless. If I had worn it in 6 months, I was never going to wear it, so I threw about 6 carrier bags of make-up and kept a select few. I think my "select few" are probably a lot to many, but cosmetic junkies like me will understand.

It gave me great pleasure carefully putting each piece is it's very own little compartment. I ran out of lipstick dividers and had to buy two more especially for them, which will hold an additional 48 lipsticks:-). I think it looks like a piece of art and can't stop admiring it.
It is also lovely to be tidy, tidy house, tidy mind! X
